Bilimkurgu edebiyatına katkılarıyla bilinen Amazing Stories dergisinin kurucusu Hugo Gernsback adına düzenlenen Hugo Ödülleri, bugüne dek Isaac Asimov, Ursula K. Le Guin, Roger Zelazny ve Arthur C. Clarke gibi birçok unutulmaz yazarı ödüllendirdi.Fantastik edebiyat ve bilimkurgu edebiyatının en köklü ödülü, ilk defa 1953 yılında gerçekleştirilmişti.

2024 Hugo Ödülleri kazananları 82. Dünya Bilimkurgu Kongresi’nde açıklandı.

İskoçya’nın Glasgow kentinde düzenlenen 82. Dünya Bilimkurgu Kongresi, 2024 Hugo Ödülleri törenine ev sahipliğinde bulundu.2024 Hugo Ödülleri adayları arasında Çinceden tercüme edilen birçok eserin yer alması dikkat çekerken, en iyi roman ödülü Birleşik Krallık’tan Emily Tesh’in Some Desperate Glory eserine verilirken En İyi Novella’yı daha önce Hugo, Neubla ve Locus üçlüsünü kazanmış olan T. Kingfisher’ın Thornhedge eseri aldı.

Baldur’s Gate 3 kazandığı ödüllere Hugo’yu eklerken Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves filmi ve The Last of Us dizisi de Hugo’dan eli boş dönmeyen yapıtlar arasına katıldı.
